AMANDA J. ACKERMAN

Amanda AckermanFormerly a stay-at-home mom, Amanda J. Ackerman’s father, Monty Rainey, opened up RPM Storage Management LLC, of which she is now a co-owner and chief financial officer since 2014. His background includes working as a district manager for one of the nation’s largest REITs, where his district was among the top five in the company in year over year revenue growth for four years in a row out of 28 districts. He then worked as a district manager for a large self-storage management company, where he also had the number one district in year over year revenue growth. They started with only five properties, and now have 23 that they manage. Ms. Ackerman handles all of the human relations and payroll for all of her employees, and has two bookkeepers that she manages. She attributes her success to her strong sense of family. She has a wonderful husband, who supports her.

The self-storage industry is primarily a United States-based industry. As of 2018, it is estimated that between 44,000 and 52,000 storage facilities are currently in the United States. Ms. Ackerman’s father’s e-book, “CROSS Training: Components of Revenue Optimization for Self Storage,” is now the basis of revenue management for hundreds of self-storage properties across the United States. His program is used at hundreds of facilities throughout the United States. RPM’s ongoing training of self-storage staff develops average into super stars with a strong emphasis on being servant leaders. This requires ongoing personalized training, development and supervision of staff procedures to produce better results. Customer service tools are developed to resolve issues, keep customers happy and provide efficient operations.

Prior to this tenure, Ms. Ackerman was a licensed vocational nurse for six years and a project management assistant with a construction company. She also supported the Child Support Division of the Hays County District Court Office, and the Criminal and Collections Division of the Comal County District Court Office, both in Texas. Before the start of her professional career, Ms. Ackerman pursued a formal education at St. Philip’s College, part of the Alamo Colleges District, in San Antonio, where she attained an Associate of Science in 1999.

Affiliated with numerous organizations related to her field including the Republican Women Association and the Comal County Republican Party, Ms. Ackerman is a master of many important skills associated with finance such as time management, organization, interpersonal relationships, communication, conflict resolution and critical thinking. She is additionally tenacious, persistent and possesses a keen attention to detail. Moving forward, Ms. Ackerman would like to learn more of what her father does. He is close to retirement and she would like to be able to take over for him.
