Holding considerable expertise in finance and human resources, Ashely Hunsaker is the chief executive officer of HTS Coatings LLC, a thermal spray, machining and grinding company she has run alongside her husband, Jason, since 2015. She and her husband had long talked about owning a business together, but various aspects of their lives simply made it impossible for many years. For this reason, she notes that the founding of HTS Coatings is her greatest achievement, as it is the culmination of years of dreaming and planning. In her current role, Ms. Hunsaker’s duties include implementing the EOS processing system, making sure the sales and finances are flowing properly, and that everyone is communicating well, while her husband manages the engineering aspects of the company as president. She truly loves the work that she does and the people that she works with, and she loves coming to work to be with her colleagues and employees.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Hunsaker worked as a controller for Pressline Services, Inc., having previously spent four years as an accountant for the company. In between those two roles, she spent a year as a controller and inventory manager for Joy Tribout, Interior Design. She began her career with World Ford Pensacola, where she spent a year working as a bookkeeper following the completion of her bachelor’s degree from Pensacola Christian College in 2004.
Attributing much of her success to the collaborative effort she and her husband have put into their business, Ms. Hunsaker is also grateful to the good work ethic that her parents instilled in her through her upbringing. Living by the motto, “Every day, do your best,” she stands out in her field for her desire to do the right thing and to care for the people around her, from clients to employees to family. Furthermore, she is motivated in all aspects of her life by her faith in God and wanting to honor God with all her actions. Looking toward the future, Ms. Hunsaker hopes to be able to franchise HTS Coatings and move their primary location further south.
Alongside her primary career responsibilities, Ms. Hunsaker has contributed her skills to a number of professional and civic endeavors. On a professional level, she is involved with the C12 Group, an organization for Christian business leaders, and the Institute of Management Accountants, Inc., in order to keep abreast of developments in her field. She has also given back to her community through service on the board of the Mosaic Pregnancy & Health Centers for a number of years.
Ms. Hunsaker has been married to her husband, Jason, for many happy years, and together they are the proud parents of four children, Robert, Andrew, April and their youngest, who is still in daycare. Impressively, they have juggled homeschooling all of their children alongside their busy careers. The children accompany Ms. Hunsaker to the office where they do their online video school, and during her lunch time and weekends she grades their work. She feels it is important to have her children working to their own standards not someone else’s. When she is not busy with work for her children’s schooling, Ms. Hunsaker enjoys running half and full marathons.
