Backed by a strong educational foundation, Barbara Anne Krause is presently parlaying more than four decades of knowledge into her role as an educational therapist at Johnstown Christian School in Hollsopple, Pa. She has been interested in academia for as long as she can remember, and has always enjoyed learning. Thus, she relishes the opportunity to assess student needs and help them reach their full potential. In her role, she mainly deals with individuals with learning challenges and disabilities.
In addition to her position as an educational therapist, Ms. Krause is also a librarian for the school. Further, she has experience as a teacher in the North Star School District in Boswell, Pa., and as a Vacation Bible School director at the Christian Community Church, where she’s served as a board member since 2005. Ms. Krause is also a volunteer at the Country Manor Nursing Home in Jerome, Pa., and is a member of the Somerset County Reading Council.
Ms. Krause prepared for her endeavors by earning a Bachelor of Education at Clarion University in 1973, a certificate from the Pennsylvania Department of Education in 1976, and a Master in Equivalency from the Pennsylvania Department of Education in 1981. Always looking to better herself, she returned to school to obtain a certification from the Association of Christian Schools International in 2009.
In recognition of her accomplishments in her field, Ms. Krause received the 2017 Worldwide Lifetime Achievement Award, and is featured in Who’s Who in America. She was also honored to receive a grant from the American Library Association.
When she has spare time, Ms. Krause enjoys reading, traveling, and exercising.
