CAROLYN M. RUBIN

Carolyn Rubin

Carolyn M. Rubin has dedicated over 32 years of her life to the health care industry. After pursuing a career as a real estate agent and a restaurant owner, she decided to switch careers so that she could dedicate more time to her two children. She witnessed a commercial for medical assisting and began seeking certifications in the field. Beginning her career in 1995 in an urgent care facility and family practice setting, Ms. Rubin knew she had found her passion. She also had the desire to give back and help others who also wanted to follow their desire for a new challenge and beginning.

Ms. Rubin mentored students who attended Omaha College of Health Careers and became an adjunct instructor for the college before accepting an instructor position at Alegent Health School of Medical Assisting. She also earned a certification with AHIMA and AAPC as a certified coder, and as a coding instructor for AAPC. With this training, Ms. Rubin started a coding certification program at Iowa Western Community College, which was offered on weekends from 2001 to 2006, while working as a reimbursement coordinator for Oncology Hematology West, before transferring to U.S. Oncology as the associate director of health information services for the remainder of the 2000s.

Ms. Rubin worked with 1,200 providers across 26 practices during her time with U.S. Oncology, soon to become McKesson Specialty Health. From 2010 to 2012, she provided support as a practice administrator for Texas Oncology. As part of the McKesson Specialty Health Network, when there was a need for her knowledge and strength in the area of revenue cycle, she was asked to take on the role of director of reimbursement support services for McKesson Specialty Health and the U.S. Oncology Network for the following two years. More recently, she drew upon her considerable knowledge in numerous roles of increasing responsibility as vice president of revenue cycle innovations for Anthelio Healthcare Solutions and director of revenue cycle management with Dallas Nephrology Associates. Since 2023, Ms. Rubin has excelled as the senior vice president for practice management solutions with Beacon Oral Specialists. She is also an executive program team member for Maxwell Leadership and was previously the vice president of practice integration for U.S. Anesthesia Partners.

An expert in her field, Ms. Rubin earned a diploma in medical assisting from the Omaha College of Health Careers in 1995 and a pharmacy technician certification in the State of Nebraska. Over the years, she also became an ICD-10-approved instructor and a certified professional coder by the American Academy of Professional Coders and American Health Information Management Association. She is also a certified revenue cycle representative and certified health care financial professional through the Healthcare Financial Management Association.

Ms. Rubin is a certified life coach and six-phase meditation trainer by Mindvalley and a certified speaker, mentor, coach, DISC trainer and consultant, founding member and certified facilitator for the corporate facilitator programs on servant leadership and inclusive leadership with the Maxwell Leadership Team. She is a senior executive contributor for Brainz Magazine and a contributing editor for Passion Vista Magazine. Ms. Rubin is an influencer and mentor for the International Association of Women and a certified facilitator for The 6 Types of Working Genius.

Ms. Rubin was a licensed Texas General Lines Life, Accident, Health and HMO agent. She is also a national speaker for several health care organizations and contributes articles and research to advisory boards. Ms. Rubin has been sought out to provide education, training and restructuring of businesses.

Dedicated to her community, Ms. Rubin is a member of the Richardson Chamber of Commerce and contributes to numerous local art organizations, the Boys & Girls Club of America, local food banks, the Network of Ministries in Richardson and the Feed America Campaign. She also dedicates her time and efforts to the American Heart Association, the American Cancer Society, USO and the Wounded Warriors Project. Throughout her remarkable career, Ms. Rubin has received awards and accolades and has been recognized worldwide for her outstanding leadership and commitment to the profession.

Ms. Rubin is an Amazon Best Selling Author with contributions to such Amazon Best Selling Books as “You Can Overcome Anything! With Integrity,” “You Can Overcome Anything! With Clarity,” and “You Can Overcome Anything! With Awareness” with Cesar R. Espino. She is a contributing author to “Heros, Leaders and Legends” by the late Pat Sampson and a contributing author to “Top 50 Fearless Leaders” by IAOTP.  For 2023 she was selected as Woman of the Year and Female Visionary of the Year by the International Association of Top Professionals (IAOTP). For 2022, she appeared on the Nasdaq billboard in Times Square for her contribution to the Amazon Best Selling Book, “Top 50 Fearless Leaders.”

In 2020, Ms. Rubin was featured on the famous Reuters building in Times Square for her selection as Empowered Woman of the Year. She also graced the front cover of TIP Magazine and received the honor of Top Healthcare Executive of the Decade. A distinguished Marquis listee, Ms. Rubin has been recognized among Who’s Who of Professional Women, as Marquis Who’s Who Top Professional. She has also been featured in Who’s Who in America and Millennium Magazine.

Previously, in 2019, Ms. Rubin was selected as Top Healthcare Executive of the Year by IAOTP and was featured in TIP (Top Industry Professionals) Magazine. She was also featured in the Top 101 Industry Experts publication, appeared on “Breaking It Down with Frank Mackay,” and was on CUTV News Radio. In 2016, Ms. Rubin was featured in Women of Distinction Magazine and Talk Nation Magazine, and, in 2013, she was selected as VIP Woman of the Year by the National Association of Professional Women and became a delegate for the IWLA. Additionally, in 2009, she was awarded the U.S. Oncology Customer Service Award.

Looking back, Ms. Rubin attributes her success to her perseverance, the mentors she has had along the way, and to staying passionate in all her business endeavors. When not working, she enjoys traveling, dancing, the arts and spending time with her family. She and her husband, Ron, have five wonderful children and 11 grandchildren and one great-granddaughter.
