Margaret “Peggy” Greif Arden celebrates a career spanning more than 50 years as an award-winning interior decorator and small business owner. Creative and naturally artistic since childhood, Ms. Arden enjoyed crafts and ceramic arts, and took design coursework first at DePauw University in the late 1950s, and then at the University of Illinois between 1960 and 1962. She got her start in the interior design and decor industry by designing interiors for hospitals and corporate settings, and fell in love with the work. By 1965, Ms. Arden had established her own company, Creative Decor, a Kankakee, Illinois-based firm where she remained the principal and primary owner until 1979. MEGHAN MARILYN KENNEDY

Naturally creative, detail-oriented, and a strong communicator, Meghan Marilyn Kennedy found her passion for interior design after accepting a student job managing the fabric library at the University of Bridgeport. During her sophomore year, she was given the chance to work with an architect who was making the transition to interior design, seeing herself reflected in the process, and in 2019, Ms. Kennedy graduated from the University of Bridgeport with a Bachelor of Science in interior design, magna cum laude. MARY LOVE STRINGFIELD SLOAN

Greatly inspired by her father, who was a doctor, and her mother, who was a nurse, Mary Love Stringfield Sloan knew early on that she wanted a career in health care. She embarked on her studies at the University of Tennessee in Knoxville, where she investigated several programs in the medical and home economics departments before settling on hospital interior design after hearing a professional speak at a student design rally. Now holding considerable expertise in fireplace design, Lisa Moskal initially pursued studies in cardiovascular science at Union County College, where she earned an Associate of Arts in 2004. Following this, she began a career in customer service as a flight attendant with United Airlines, where she later worked as a member of the sales and marketing department. Her journey began in 1973, when she joined the U.S. Army and learned broadcasting and personnel administration. Of her eight years in the Army, she spent two years as a personnel specialist in Honolulu, and another three as an administrative specialist in San Francisco.
