ELLEN G. FEILER

Holding considerable expertise in health care program development and promotion, Ellen G. Feiler has had a long-standing love and appreciation for public health. While studying at Hunter College, she was greatly influenced by one of her professors, and earned a Bachelor of Arts in health education in 1973. Following this, she embarked on her career as an instructor of health education at Queensborough Community College and Brooklyn College, positions she held until 1980. During this time, she obtained a Master of Science in health and safety education at the University of Illinois in 1974 and completed coursework in gerontology at Columbia University from 1977 to 1979. ELAINE M. COLE

As the daughter of a teacher and a preacher, Elaine M. Cole knew that she would live a life of service to her community. She wanted to pursue a career that allowed her to travel, meet other people and understand different cultures. She received a Bachelor of Science in business administration and human resource management from Robert Morris University in 2003, and a Master of Science in executive leadership from Champlain College in 2017. In her career, she spent 17 years as a travel agent and supervisor with U.S. Airways from 1990 to 2002, and eventually decided to join the Social Security Administration in Pennsylvania. JUNE FLEMING

Books have been part of June Fleming’s life for as long as she can remember. She has always been a reader, which made her decision to pursue library science an easy one. Her first position in the field was branch librarian at the Brooklyn Public Library, followed by high school librarian at Little Rock Public Schools, associate professor at Philander Smith College, and library director for the City of Palo Alto in California. Eventually, however, Ms. Fleming’s time in the local government system inspired her to leave her library position. Cathryn Hilliard

CATHRYN ANN SAMPSON HILLIARD

Initially studying at the University of California Los Angeles, she later earned an Associate of Arts from Los Angeles Pierce College in California in 1963. Ms. Hilliard began her career as a secretary for a congressman and the legislative aide for a U.S. senator between 1966 and 1969. Subsequently, she worked as a public administrator and a public affairs officer for the Association of Bay Area Governments in Oakland, California, between 1970 and 1976 enabling the first Environmental Management Plan for the San Francisco Bay Area. During this time, she received a certificate from the University of California Berkeley in 1975 and a Bachelor of Arts in political science at California State University, Hayward in 1976.
