SUSAN CAROL LOSH

Holding considerable expertise in survey research, Susan Carol Losh attributes much of her success to her stubbornness. Inspired to her career by a course she took during her undergraduate studies at the University of Michigan, she earned a Bachelor of Arts in psychology in 1968. She then continued her academic efforts at the University of Michigan with a Master of Arts in sociology in and a Doctor of Philosophy in sociology in 1973. Following these accomplishments, she joined Florida State University where she remained for the rest of her career. CAROL A. EPPRIGHT

An expert on the principles of economics, American history, leadership, western civilization and sociology, Carol A. Eppright became involved in her profession because, from a very early age, she felt a need to teach after receiving direction from her teachers. In fact, she often played school with her sister when they were younger. She was either going to be a teacher or a doctor, and she decided to be a teacher. Ms. Eppright began her professional career as a college instructor at Platte Technical Community College, now known as Central Community College, in Columbus, Nebraska, in 1970, remaining in this position for four years. Kathleen Slobin

KATHLEEN OVERIN SLOBIN

A genuine seeker of knowledge, Kathleen Overin Slobin has incorporated a wide variety of interests into her career. After graduating with a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Pomona College during the turbulent 1960s, she felt called to become a painter. Her mother was a practicing artist. As she grew older, however, her focus shifted to sociology and public administration.  Today, Dr. Slobin holds numerous degrees across those fields. She is presently leading a seminar for family caregivers at California Pacific Medical Center. Additionally, she has been a storyteller at the Asian Art Museum since 2010, a docent at the California Academy of Sciences since 2009, and a professor emeritus at North Dakota State University since 2007. CAROLYN PERRUCCI

Encouraged to pursue sociology, Carolyn Perrucci quickly found the field to be the perfect fit. It combined her passion for helping people with her interest in human relationships and cultures, and allowed her to be part of the fight to lessen inequality in the world. She started by earning a Bachelor of Science at Middle Tennessee University, after which she was offered a 3-year fellowship at Purdue University. Dr. Perrucci proceeded to obtain a Master of Science and a PhD from the school, where she really found a home.
