With expertise in verbal and written communications, problem-solving and motivation, Jeanette A. Griver has thrived as the founder and chief executive officer of Compsych Systems, Inc. She started the human factors corporation in 1962, and has relished in the opportunity to provide clients with viable solutions to issues they face. She has also served as a consultant to a variety of organizations over her 50 years in the field. In addition to those endeavors, Ms. Griver was both vice president of Jan Engineering Electronic Components and president of Jan Engineering Human Factors Division between 1955 and 1989.
Using her unique skills and background, Ms. Griver has published numerous articles and books, and has presented her techniques to more than 50,000 people on three continents. She authored “Applied Problem Analysis Plus,” to teach simple and to-the-point problem-solving and analysis, and, “Oh No! Not Another Problem,” to offer guidelines on dealing with daily problems. She then wrote several books for children of all ages about the lessons of change – “Curio: A Shetland Sheepdog Meets the Crow,” “Curio: A Shetland Sheepdog and Friends,” “Curio: A Shetland Sheepdog and Her Pals,” and “Curio: A Shetland Sheepdog Meets the Cat.” Ms. Griver plans to write a book about a woman entrepreneur in the future.
Keeping up with her industry and the goings-on in her community, Ms. Griver is a member of the International Association Nanotech, Human Factors Society, the Pacific Palisades Chamber of Commerce, and the Lions Club of Pacific Palisades. She enhanced her career by earning a Bachelor of Arts in psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles, in 1961, and a Master of Arts in psychology and the human factor from the University of Southern California in 1964.
Ms. Griver attributes her ongoing success to her persistence and patience, as well as to her willingness to put time and effort into her ideas. In recognition of her achievements, Ms. Griver has been featured in one edition of Who’s Who in Medicine and Healthcare and multiple editions of Who’s Who of American Women, Who’s Who in Science and Engineering, Who’s Who in the World, and Who’s Who in America.
When Ms. Griver has spare time, she enjoys traveling and tennis.
