Kelly Garrett Zeigler has excelled as the vice president of global consumer and shopper insights for Vans, a subsidiary company of the VF Corporation, since 2017. In this role, she is responsible for elevating consumer voices within the company, conducting market research and trend forecasting, and collaborating with the brand president and other department heads. She previously served AT&T/DIRECTV as the director of consumer and competitive insights and a senior manager from 2012 to 2017. Between 2003 and 2012, she was active with Belkin International, rising from the position of analyst up to manager from 2003 to 2011 before serving as head of global consumer insights from 2011 to 2012. Earlier in her career, she cultivated her skills as a research analyst for the Walt Disney Company from 2002 to 2003.
Embarking on her career while still in college, Ms. Zeigler worked as a research assistant in the psychology department at Stanford University from 2001 to 2002, while she worked toward her master’s degree. First earning a Bachelor of Arts in social psychology at Stanford, she ultimately earned a Master of Arts in psychology in 2002. She also holds a certificate in data sciences and statistics as well as a certificate in behavioral economics and consumer insights from the Yale School of Management and in designing strategy from IDEO. Furthermore, she completed the design thinking boot camp at the Hasso Plattner Institute of Design at Stanford and the executive program for growing companies at the Stanford Graduate School of Business, and is a certified strategic foresight practitioner through the Institute for the Future.
Named to the Top 100 Executives Under 50 by Diversity MBA Magazine in 2020, Ms. Zeigler maintains professional affiliation with the National Black MBA Association and World 50, where she is involved in inclusion and diversity impact. On a civic level, she has been active with St. Mary’s School in Aliso Viejo, California, as a parent volunteer and with the Stanford Alumni Association as an outreach volunteer alumni link. Born to Freedman and Linda Garret, Ms. Zeigler has been happily married to her husband, Aaron Zeigler, for many years, and together they are the proud parents of one daughter, Zoe.
