LUCILE G. MASON

Motivated by her desire to help others, Lucile Mason has dedicated the majority of her career to nonprofit leadership. She started as a conference manager with Camp Fire Girls, Inc., and then became the executive director of the Association of the Junior League of America, Inc., the director of the Division of Public Affairs at Girl Scouts of the United States, and director of public relations at the YWCA of the City of New York. Ms. Mason also spent time as the director of community relations and development at the Girl Scout Council of Greater New York, the director of development at the Montclair Kimberley Academy, the director of development for Ethical Culture Schools, the development officer of foundations for Fairleigh Dickinson University, the director of development for Whole Theatre, Inc., the vice president of administration and financial development for the Institute of Religion and Health, and the director of corporation and foundation relations for Upsala College, among others. Since 1991, she has been the president of Lucile Mason & Associates.

Outside of nonprofits, Ms. Mason garnered experience as an editor with ABC, the director and head of casting at Compton Advertising, Inc., and the president of the New York City Chapter of American Women in Radio and TV. Further, she was a member of the Public Relations Society of America and the membership chairman of the Community Agencies Public Relations Association.

Ms. Mason prepared for her endeavors by earning a Master of Arts from New York University in 1976 and in 1968, and a Bachelor of Arts from Smith College in 1947. To keep in touch with her peers and any professional developments, she became involved with prominent organizations like the Association of Fundraising Professionals, the Smith College Club, and the Neighborhood Council, Inc. Her achievements have been highlighted in numerous editions of Who’s Who in America, Who’s Who in Finance and Business, Who’s Who in the East, Who’s Who in the World, and Who’s Who of American Women.

In her free time, Ms. Mason enjoys gardening and piano.
