MARIELIS RIVERA

While serving as an event planner, Marielis Rivera received compliments on how well she cleaned up her venues after every event. This led her to establishing a cleaning company, Royal Cleaning Service and Maintenance LLC, in which she has excelled as chief executive officer since 2014. In her executive role, she supervises daily business operations, trains seven employees, liaises with 15 subcontractors and provides quality janitorial cleaning services for various types of businesses. In the beginning, Ms. Rivera was living in public housing and raising four children, including one with special needs, and she knew she wanted to pursue a better opportunity for both herself and her family, thus she began her business on her own. Her business now makes up to $1 million annually, attributing her success to the grace of God.

More recently, Ms. Rivera has flourished as the founder of another company, Women of Power, as well. Through Women of Power, she works with a community program, funded through a children’s service console and community partners, called BRIDGES at Riviera Beach. The program selected her company, as they were looking for a women’s group, and it hosts mothers of all ages and backgrounds, some of which are homeless, unemployed and/or victims of domestic abuse. Ms. Rivera does this because she comes from a similar background, being a survivor of domestic violence herself and given away at 15 years old. Thus, she wanted a platform to serve as an example for other women.

Ms. Rivera is additionally certified as a wedding planner and a notary public. Likewise, she remains aware of changes in the field through her affiliations with United Latina, the Better Business Bureau and the National Association of Professional Women. Dedicated to her community, Ms. Rivera contributes to those in need as an ordained pastor for Unity of Faith Church.

Due to her professional excellence, Ms. Rivera was honored for Best Restaurant Cleaning Services in 2014 and 2017. Looking toward the future, she intends to experience the continued growth and success of her career. What makes Ms. Rivera’s business different from others is that while she is still the owner, she is involved in the company’s operations. Her employees can turn to her on a personal level if needed to ensure all-around quality. Overall, she tries her best to remain humble, faithful and giving.
