Melanie Mears


Inspired early on by her father, who was a firefighter and emergency medical technician, Melanie Mears was also greatly impacted by her grandmother’s diagnosis and subsequent passing from cancer when she was 11. At that point she knew that she wanted to do something in the medical field but wasn’t quite sure what. She found her answer at age 12, following an accident that saw her break her arm. As she was being treated, she met an x-ray technologist and was instantly struck by the thought of what a cool job that was. Ann Carden


Inspired by her father, who was a serial entrepreneur, Ann L. Carden first earned a diploma in general studies from Southeast Missouri State University in 1979 and began her career as a corporate retailer with Corporate Business Management in 1980. In 1991, she became certified as an LPW platinum business and marketing coach and went on to complete the additional coursework necessary to earn an associate degree in retail and business management from Hickey College. Over the course of her career, Ms. Carden has built up and sold five lucrative, well-established companies, including two health clubs, two weight loss centers and an international doll company. Mindy Samples embarked on her professional path by earning a bachelor’s degree in early childhood education from Pensacola Christian College in Brent, Florida, in 2003. Going on to join Foundation Academy from 2006 to 2014, she spent a year as a teacher with a nonprofit in Fort Worth, Texas, from 2014 to 2015 before deciding that she wanted to be more involved in education leadership. Having attained lifetime certification as a director in Texas, she achieved the position of director of the Early Education Center with the First Presbyterian Church of Fort Worth in 2015, a position she continues to excel in to this day.
