Graduating third in her class from Glades Central Community High School, Benita D. Hamilton first thought of pursuing a career in health care. Completing coursework at Palm Beach State College, she began her career as an office cleaner for the Janice Haberberger Cleaning Company before spending time with the Visiting Nurse Association of Florida. From 1982 to 1987, she held the role of medical secretary with the Hospice of Palm Beach County. While working as a newspaper carrier with the Palm Beach Post, she got to know a co-worker who was a postmaster with their local post office, and Ms. Hamilton was immediately interested in pursuing a similar career. Denise Da Moude


Starting her career as a physical education and health teacher and coach at Pine Ridge Middle School in South Dakota from 1977 to 1979, Denise A. Da Moude decided to change professions and began working for the U.S. Forest Service in Chadron, Nebraska, as a dorm supervisor and counselor from 1980 to 1981. She then joined the U.S. Postal Service as a city carrier from 1981 to 1983, moving up the ranks to clerk from 1983 to 1992. Following this, she transferred to the U.S. Postal Service’s Portsmouth, Virginia, office, where she served as a city carrier from 1993 to 2003 and passport clerk from 2003 to 2010.
