Who's Who of Professional Women

JACQUELINE FABER

Jacqueline Faber

First earning a Bachelor of Arts in elementary education, with a minor in art and writing, from the University of San Francisco in 1965, Jacqueline Faber began her career as an elementary teacher in Marin County, California. Spending over two decades with the Wade Thomas School, she taught third grade and specialized in project based learning. She was also responsible for the gifted writing program for the entire Ross Valley School District. In 1999, she was presented with the Golden Bell Award for all of her achievements. Inspired by seeing how her students were impacted when they got to read, Ms. Faber was ultimately driven to write children’s books of her own.

In 2015, Ms. Faber published her first book, “Desiree’s Night Flight,” through Balboa Press. Her second book, “A Purrfect Home for Kitters,” was published in 2019, and she is presently working on a third children’s book, entitled “Super Gold Fish.” Carving out time to write daily between 8:30am and 12pm, she greatly enjoys creating fun stories for children that also have deep spiritual messages, and she attributes much of her success to her years of experience working with children and making children happy.

Writing for over 20 years, Ms. Faber made her foray into publishing as an instructor with Faber Books in 2009, where she remains active. She also holds membership in the Society of Children’s Book Writers and Illustrators and the Bay Area Independent Publishers Association in order to keep abreast of developments in the field. Active in supporting the children of her local community as well, she donated time as a volunteer reader for the Marin Formative Christian Preschool in 2018 and 2019.

Additionally, Ms. Faber has over 40 years of experience in fashion and jewelry. Since 2009, she has owned and operated her own jewelry business, Jewelry by Jacquie. Working with such materials as pearls and a variety of semi-precious stones, such as quartz, agate, turquoise, jade and tourmaline, she crafts exquisite one-of-a-kind pieces that she sells through her online store.

Above everything, Ms. Faber considers the highlight of her career to be inspiring thousands of children, through her decades of teaching and her current work authoring children’s books. She feels she didn’t just teach their minds, but helped to nourish their spirits. Looking toward the future, she hopes to develop a Zoom program and give presentations for classrooms and assemblies. Furthermore, Ms. Faber hopes to be able to do a book tour once “Super Gold Fish” is released.
