KAREN A. POLLOCK

Karen A. Pollock celebrates more than 35 years as an information technology and computer specialist for the Department of Veterans Affairs. Methodical, meticulous, and passionate about technology and problem-solving, Ms. Pollock began her journey at Elmhurst College, graduating in 1984 with a Bachelor of Science in information systems. Shortly after graduation, she was hired by National Data Corporation, where she briefly worked as a formatter before joining the Department of Veterans Affairs as an information technology specialist in 1985.

Ms. Pollock continued her education at North Central College, where she was awarded a Master of Science in information systems in 1993. She has continued to learn and refine her abilities throughout her career, and remains with the Department of Veterans Affairs, where she is responsible for a broad range of data management, maintenance, and system administration projects. Ms. Pollock is proud to have found lasting success in her industry and feels that her work is an extension of the process she began when she earned her bachelor’s degree.

While Ms. Pollock has seen a number of professional milestones, she considers it her greatest honor and achievement to have dedicated her career to serving veterans and their families, and she plans to continue her work for as long as she is able. In recognition of her drive and dedication to service, Ms. Pollock has been presented with the Albert Nelson Marquis Lifetime Achievement Award.
