Making lasting relationships with her clients, Katherine Frost became involved in her profession because she loves helping people and making their day special. Since 2015, she has served as the owner and chief executive officer of A Frosted Affair in Denver, a premier event planning company that works with clients to plan weddings, corporate events and nonprofit events. The company facilitates unforgettable events that deliver the experience their clients are dreaming of, and has been acknowledged by key publications including The Huffington Post, Brides Magazine, Real Simple Magazine and Bustle. Through her profession, Ms. Frost loves being a part of the family and making their event fun and beautiful for everyone. Prior to this post, she served as the sales and account coordinator for Destination Services Corporation from 2013 to 2015. She was also a luxury wedding expert for The Huffington Post and community relations chair of the Colorado Thought Leaders Forum.

A Texas native, Ms. Frost has been organizing events since she was tall enough to set the table. Her parents, grandparents and great-grandparents were avid entertainers, who frequently hosted parties at their home. Her first event responsibilities were scrubbing the floor, polishing the silver and cleaning up the empty plates left around the room. As she became more familiar with the party planning process, she began to arrange the food and place settings. Before embarking on her professional path, Ms. Frost pursued a formal education at Southern Methodist University in Dallas, where she obtained a Bachelor of Arts in art in 2010. During this time, she organized everything for her sorority house from tailgates to socials to formals, sometimes coordinating two events per week. When she planned her own wedding, she found that the entire process was second nature to her and realized that event planning was her calling. Additionally, she is a certified event planner through Event Integrity.

Since graduating, Ms. Frost has volunteered her time as a board member with the 2Hearts Foundation, which provides support and education for children, youth and families affected by congenital heart disease. She is also the president of the Leads Group 7 of the Denver Metro Chamber. In five years, she sees herself being more involved in the technology field. She is currently developing software to help event planners make their events even better than they already are.

In light of her many accomplishments, Ms. Frost was awarded the Red Carpet Treatment Award by Colorado Meetings and Events Magazine. She was also named Colorado’s Up-and-Coming Special Events Professional by Colorado Meetings and Events Magazine at its Hall of Fame ceremony in 2019. Wanting her clients to know that their best interests are at heart, Ms. Frost continues to stress the importance of honesty. For her, every day is a new challenge and every event is different. She advises those trying to break into the industry to be patient; it takes time to gain respect and trust in a new capacity. You must believe in yourself, and dive head first into the deep end before others can.
