Who's Who of Professional Women

MICHELLE S. STUART

Michelle S. Stuart, MBA, has excelled as the firm administrator for Burwell Nebout Trial Lawyers since 2015. In this role, she manages a wide range of duties including maintenance, office management, information technology, accounting, marketing, human resources and more. She also assists all the partners working within the firm with tasks ranging from the distribution of settlement funds to setting up the electronic aspects needed for trials. With a great love of learning, she strives to learn something new every day and has cemented her expertise in accounting and marketing with two bachelor’s degrees and a Master of Business Administration from Western Governors University between 2017 and 2019, during which she was named to both the dean’s list and the honors list. Ms. Stuart has also been inducted into the Honor Society of Phi Kappa Phi.

Incredibly proud to have achieved her degrees while raising a family and working a full-time job, Ms. Stuart is also certified in CompTIA project management and both Microsoft Word and Excel. She continues to learn, both on and off the job, through a variety of methods, such as attending seminars, collaborating with fellow legal and marketing admins, and even just through simple observation of her surroundings. Prior to joining Burwell Nebout Trial Lawyers, Ms. Stuart had excelled in a variety of industries, including retail, accounting and marketing. She began her career with Levitz Furniture, where she worked for seven years and received 15 regional and national design and merchandising awards from various furniture manufacturers.

In a career filled with highlights, Ms. Stuart is particularly proud of what she has accomplished doing digital marketing for Burwell Nebout. Previously, an associate attorney had overseen the digital side of marketing, and when they left, Ms. Stuart took over and realized that the firm’s online marketing actually was not performing well. Despite having a fairly small budget, she was able to bring the firm’s website up from 200 hits per month to more than 2,000 in the span of just three months. Today, the website boasts roughly 5,000 visitors per month. In her day-to-day tasks, she also excels at time management and juggling all the various projects she is working on while not letting anything slip through the cracks.

Attributing much of her success to her determination and work ethic, Ms. Stuart has made a name for herself as an accomplished administrator who wears as many hats as she needs to. Her approach to work has always been to do it right the first time, so you don’t have to redo it later. Looking toward the future, she intends to continue her studies and eventually become a certified legal manager to bolster her work at Burwell Nebout. To remain up to date with new developments in her field, Ms. Stuart maintains professional affiliation with a number of organizations in her field, including the Legal Marketing Association, the Association of Legal Administrators, the Personal Injury Legal Marketing and Management Association, and the Society for Human Resources Management.

Motivated every day by the desire to do the best job she can, Ms. Stuart hopes that she has become a strong role model for her children and grandchildren and that she will inspire them to have fun, do what they love and live their lives well. Ms. Stuart was born in Indianapolis, Indiana, to father Claude Stuart, who served in the military, and mother Peggy Clark, who was a math teacher. Her eldest two sons, Timothy and Kyle, followed their grandfather’s footsteps into the military, both joining the U.S. Marines, and her youngest son, Luke, is a recent high school graduate and now serving in the U.S. Air Force. Ms. Stuart is the proud grandmother to two wonderful grandchildren, Elias and Aria. In her free time, she is an active member of her community and volunteers with her church’s community outreach.
