Having accrued nearly three decades of excellence in childcare development, Mollie N. Ball is highly regarded for her skill and passion in the childcare industry. Since 2005, she has excelled as the owner and director of A Precious 1 Childcare in Midland, Texas. For the past 18 years, she has focused her efforts on providing care for children ages 0 to 2 years old and managing her staff, ensuring the children and employees all have the resources they need to succeed. To put parents at ease, she shares with them, “We provide a safe, quality, and caring environment where your child is a precious one.”
The fruition of Ms. Ball’s childcare business began in her own home. Ultimately, she felt the space was not the right place for the kids, so she relocated to a building near her home. Her business became known by word of mouth, and most of the first children who went to her daycare have now graduated from high school and even have their own families. She has most enjoyed watching the children be promoted to kindergarten and perform well on tests. Attributing the success of her business to God, Ms. Ball’s caring nature and leadership skills have greatly benefited her in creating a successful business.
In the earlier years of her professional journey, Ms. Ball worked as an eligibility specialist, case worker and facilitator for the Workforce Network from 1990 to 2005. In this post, her duties included managing case files for dislocated workers or Project RIO ex-offenders who must return to school to retrain. This also included job search training, resume writing and facilitating motivational workshops. As an eligibility specialist, she worked with customers eligible for various resources and supplies through their programs. Ms. Ball then worked with the JTPA Private Industry Council for 20 years.
At the civic level, Ms. Ball has been a worship leader and volunteer coordinator at Greater Ideal Baptist Church. To prepare for her career, she earned an Associate of Arts in general studies from Midland College in 1995. She later attained a bachelor’s degree in organizational management from Lubbock Christian University in 2002.
Within the coming years, Ms. Ball intends to create an activity room for her kids at the daycare and to have a non-profit resource center for parents where she can offer life skills training and teach them how to work effectively with their children on a daily basis. She believes in serving her community, helping them obtain what they need above all else, and has committed herself to a philosophy of hospitality. A distinguished Marquis listee, Ms. Ball presently resides in Midland, Texas. She is the doting mother of three daughters, one son and four stepchildren.
