Who's Who of Professional Women

ROSE MARY ZAPOR

Backed by decades of experience with elder law and mediation, Rose Mary Zapor is thriving as an attorney at Zapor Law Office, P.C. She started the practice with the goal of helping as many people as possible, noting that, “families are facing challenges that previous generations have never known – longer lives, higher health costs, and shrinking resources.” Over the years, Ms. Zapor has accrued a reputation a passionate and skilled advocate for those in need. Her practice also includes wills and probate, Medicaid application and planning, guardianship and conservatorship, and social security disability.

Ms. Zapor’s introduction to law came when, at 18 years old, she was told she was not allowed to vote in the federal election. She did some research on the subject, and ended up appearing on TV and catching the government’s attention. As a result, her state was one of the ones that challenged the law.  Ms. Zapor is proud of her contribution to the eventual decision to lower the federal voting age. Although she didn’t pursue law as a profession at first, instead opting to become an educator, she is thrilled her path led her to the field.

One of the highlights of Ms. Zapor’s career was getting a father custody of his daughter after she was wrongfully and illegally taken from him in the state of Colorado. Other notable achievements include serving as a contributing author of the Colorado Elder Law Handbook, the Senior Law Handbook, and the Practitioner’s Guide to Colorado, and being named a Top Lawyer in Colorado by Best Lawyers and the Best Estate Planning Lawyer by the Best of Lakewood.

To prepare for her endeavors, Ms. Zapor earned a JD from the University of Denver in 1999 and a Master of Fine Arts in theater from the University of Oklahoma in 1979. She also holds a Master of Arts in education and a Bachelor of Arts in communications and history. She is licensed to practice in the state of Colorado.
