Ruth Edwards

Holding considerable expertise in residential real estate, Ruth O. Edwards has excelled as a realtor with Coldwell Banker Next Generation Realty in Florida since 2019. Her primary duties involve work with both buyers and sellers and ensuring that both parties achieve the best outcomes in their transactions. Active as a realtor since 2015, she previously spent 30 years as an emergency medical technician and paramedic in New Jersey. In 2011, she moved to Florida to take care of her aging parents, a task that was not well suited for continued work in emergency services. With the encouragement of a friend, who was also a realtor, she took the realtor exam, passed with flying colors, and began work on January 5, 2015. Ms. Edwards brings a wide range of skills to the table, also having experience working in department store retail and an associate degree in retail management and merchandising from Middlesex College in Edison, New Jersey.

Looking toward the future, Ms. Edwards has plans to obtain her real estate broker license in both Florida and Texas, anticipating a move to Texas with her husband, Kerry, in order to be closer to family. She also holds certifications with PSA Certified and At Home With Diversity and as a real estate negotiation expert and military relocation professional. Furthermore, in order to keep abreast of developments in her field, she is an active member of the Real Estate Business Institute, the Women’s Council of Realtors and Greater Tampa Realtors. Ms. Edwards additionally spent time as the president of the Realtors Association of Citrus County and in a number of roles with the National Association of Realtors, including on the leading edge advisory board and the realtor political action committee.

Attributing much of her success to her love of her work, Ms. Edwards she been the recipient of a number of honors and accolades over the course of her career. Inducted into the honor society of Florida Realtors, where she has served on the curriculum and professional development committees, she was most notably presented with the Top 500 Award in both 2019 and 2020 by Broker Agent Advisor. Above these accolades however, Ms. Edwards considers the highlight of her career to working with first time home buyers. She recalls one client who had a very low credit score, making it a challenge to get the house financed, and it was incredibly gratifying to get to see them so emotional and happy when everything was resolved.
