Who's Who of Professional Women

SHARON HODNETT

Sharon Hodnett

Born to father Billie Joe Autrey and mother Mary Autrey, Sharon Hodnett was exposed to the field of real estate from an early age due to her mother’s career as a real estate broker. A stay-at-home mother for her five children, Chad, Joshua, Heather, Heidi and Cory, until they were old enough to go to school, she then decided she wanted a career for herself and real estate seemed the perfect option. Approaching her mother about entering the field, she began her career as a realtor in her mother’s firm for five years. Ms. Hodnett considers her mother to be among her greatest mentors, citing her mother’s advice to “work at least eight hours and the work will come to you” as a major key to her success. She further credits making herself available at all hours, constant communication and her down to earth nature as reasons behind her ongoing excellence.

Achieving certification as a relocation specialist with the Cartus Broker Network and Relocation Realty Inc., Ms. Hodnett has also held the designation of luxury home marketing specialist from the Institute for Luxury Home Marketing since 1998. In 2000, she joined Century 21 Mike Bowman, Inc., where she came under the tutelage of Jeanie Vees. She worked with Century 21 until 2004, expanding her expertise in the areas of luxury real estate, residential real estate, commercial real estate, land sales and investment properties. Since 2014, Ms. Hodnett has excelled as the owner and real estate team leader of Keller Williams Realty, Inc. in Southlake, Texas, where she had previously been active as a licensed sales agent. In these roles, she is not only responsible for working with clients, but oversees a team of seven sales agents and trains each new hire.

Looking toward the future, Ms. Hodnett wants to continue growing in the field and operates her business under the motto, “I’d like to be your realtor for life.” She has made a number of good friends through real estate, both colleagues and clients, and finds it incredibly gratifying to when people stay in touch following their transaction, return to ask questions or when they want to sell or buy again, and provide referrals to her firm. One of Ms. Hodnett’s good friends, Gayle, started off as a repeat client who bought several properties from her and then returned some years later when she needed to sell them. Getting to be on both sides of the transaction for these properties was a particularly memorable moment in her career.

Alongside her primary responsibilities, Ms. Hodnett contributed her skills to various professional and civic endeavors. In order to keep abreast of developments in her field, she maintains affiliation with such professional organizations as the National Association of Realtors and the Luxury Home Marketing Group in order to keep up to date with new developments in her field. She has also been involved in Keller Williams’ annual Red Day, a day of annual giving and service to support the local community, and volunteered locally to build bicycles for children and fundraise for school supplies.

For excellence in her career, Ms. Hodnett has been the recipient of a number of honors and accolades. In 2015, she was elected as a Woman of Outstanding Leadership by the International Women’s Leadership Association and presented with the Reader’s Choice Award for Best Agent in Fort Worth by Fort Worth Weekly. She went on to be named Best Real Estate Agent by D Magazine in 2016, as well as a Five Star Professional by Texas Monthly, among the Top 100 Most Influential Real Estate Agents in North Texas by the chief executive officer of Real Estate Executive Magazine, and to the Top 1,000 Annual Ranking of Top Real Estate Agents and Teams in America by Real Trends and Keller Williams, among other awards.

The following year, Ms. Hodnett was the Best Real Estate Agent and Top Producer Award winner with 360 West magazine and received a Global Excellence Award by the Acquisition International magazine. More recently, she was ranked #36 in overall production for North Texas in 2022 and was also featured on the Forbes List. Other awards were Best in Client Satisfaction Five Star Agent, Pulse of the City Award for Client Satisfaction and Customer Service as well as recognition in D Magazine for the past 10 consecutive years. Ms. Hodnett has notably been a member of the Institute for Luxury Home Marketing Guild since 2006 as well. Above these achievements, Ms. Hodnett considers the highlight of her career to be her induction into Who’s Who in Luxury Real Estate by Real Trends in 2017.
