Tonia Taylor

Having accrued more than 25 years of knowledge in banking regulations and auditing, Tonia F. Taylor is highly regarded among her colleagues and industry professionals as a leader in compliance management. Since 2018, she has excelled as the senior vice president and director of compliance for QCR Holdings Inc., a banking company that provides commercial and consumer banking and trust and asset management services for the Quad City and Cedar Rapids, Iowa, communities. In this capacity, she focuses her efforts on leading a team of seven who help banks to be compliant with regulations. Notably, Ms. Taylor is an expert in all areas of banking regulatory compliance, laws and regulations for financial institutions, internal auditing, and financial fraud monitoring.

Ms. Taylor builds off her earlier experience as a compliance manager for PolicyWorks LLC from 2015 to 2018, in which she managed remote staff across the country to provide compliance consulting to financial institutions, as well as developed and implemented procedures to meet the core values of the company. She served in a similar role as a compliance coordinator for the Iowa Bankers Association in Johnston, Iowa, from 2010 to 2015, providing member banks assistance in understanding compliance with laws and regulations. Earlier in her career, Ms. Taylor was a compliance internal auditor for Community State Bank in Ankeny, Iowa, from 2008 to 2010 and a compliance officer for Ogden BancShares from 2001 to 2008.

Prior to her career in banking and auditing, Ms. Taylor worked in the travel industry for many years. Following the terror attack of September 11, 2001, and the effect it left on the travel industry, she began exploring the idea of changing careers and re-evaluating her priorities. She subsequently found her way into the banking industry and started out as a teller. Finding that the people, the culture and the environment were a perfect fit for her, she has remained in the industry and found much success in her endeavors. Upon reflection, Ms. Taylor attributes her success thus far to her personality, taking things upon herself and being surrounded by strong leaders.

To prepare for her professional journey, Ms. Taylor earned a Bachelor of Science in hotel, motel and restaurant management from Iowa State University in Ames, Iowa, in 1995. Well-qualified in her field, she is a certified regulatory compliance manager, community bank internal auditor and fair lending expert, attaining the title from Tuscan Club University in 2021. She also holds certification as a BSA and anti-money laundering professional. In order to remain abreast of advancements and changes in her field, Ms. Taylor maintains affiliation with the American Bankers Association, the Iowa Bankers Association, the Illinois Bankers Association, the Missouri Bankers Association and the Independent Community Bankers Association.

Within the coming years, Ms. Taylor intends to become more involved in legislative advocacy, lending her expertise to help people understand what’s happening in their financial communities. Her current goal is to join the Consumer Advisory Board of the Consumer Financial Protection Bureau. In regard to her personal goals, Ms. Taylor plans to pay off her home mortgage and tirelessly support her children while they pursue their college educations. With this sentiment, she considers her most notable achievement to be investing in herself financially. She is also proud of her important contributions and leadership as a woman in a male-dominated industry, valuing and respecting all her colleagues alike.

A distinguished Marquis listee, Ms. Taylor enjoys reading, outdoor activities and spending time with her family and friends in her spare time. Married to her husband, Jeremy, she is the doting mother to her two children, Ethan and Derek. She currently resides in Roland, Iowa.
